5 Podcasts for music lovers

I feel like everyone can do with a good podcast to put on when you're trying to sleep or just doing mundane chores. Over at ERIC HQ, we have compiled a special list of playlists just for you, music-lovers.

1) Switched on Pop

Switched on Pop is a super cool podcast where they question why is Ariana Grande's new single making us dance? Or why is Sam Smith's songs making us cry (don't pretend you don't cry when you hear Sam Smith's angelic voice). By going through pop songs, specifically, you'll be amazed what these guys dig up in terms of insight about how music is made.

2) Required listening

This podcast is more of an interview-styled one as songwriters and artists are usually interviewed about how they write the music they write and where they draw inspiration from. Previous guests on the show include: Alessia Cara, Julia Michaels and Imagine Dragons.

3) George Ezra and Friends

As you may know, George Ezra is a musician himself and a super cool one too. This podcast is an absolute gem, as it's so laid back! George is just hanging out with his friends AKA Ed Sheeran and other dope musicians and he has really genuine conversations with artists about life in the music industry.

4) Happy Place

Now this podcast is something special. Hosted by the wonderful Fearne Cotton, Happy Place is all about (you guessed it) being happy. This means mentally, as well as physically. Fearne has interviewed some incredible artists- such as Paloma Faith- to investigate how they've dealt with pressures from the music industry but the pressure they put on themselves.

5) SodaJerker on Songwriting

Finally, I present to you... SodaJerker. This pair of incredible songwriters have interviewed some music legends such as Noel Gallagher and Emeli Sande! You do not want to miss the words of wisdom these super talented musicians have to share.
