We always hear about the BAFTA and Oscar awards, but when it comes to the creative industries, they don’t get quite the same attention. We think it’s about time the small creative awards got a look-in! Here are 5 of the best lesser-known creative awards in the UK! Nobel Peace Prize, eat your heart out!
The Hospital Club’s h 100 Award
Covent Garden’s The Hospital Club is back again in its 10th year to celebrate the most influential and innovative individuals across the UK’s creative industries. Ten nominees hve been shortlisted across ten categories, including Advertising, Marketing & PR, Fashion, and Publishing. There’s a Rising Stars category too, for influential creative figures under the age of 25.
Creative Circle Award
The Creative Circle Awards are focused on wrok generated by UK creative companies and this year’s event saw the likes of Nothing Beats a Londoner-creators Nike, Wieden + Kennedy London, Time Based Arts and Riff Raff Films pick up awards. Celebrating relevant advertising, music videos and much more, it’s one of the biggest award ceremonies for creatives in the UK!
Young Creative Awards
If you’re young, creative and you work, live or study in Nottingham, the Young Creative Awards could be a major opportunity for you! Now in its 10th year, the Award is open to all 13-24 year olds, and covers Animation and Digital, Architecture and Design, and much more. Entrants could win cash, meet industry experts and see their name on a big screen at the awards show!
Effie Awards UK
The Effie Awards are an annual award dedicated to championing and improving the practice and practitioners of marketing effectiveness in the UK! With the slogan ‘Awarding Ideas That Work’, the Effie Awards honours the marketing communications efforts behind big brands such as Marmite, Aldi UK and Beano!
London International Creative Competition
The London International Creative Competition invites artists from around the world to submit their innovative artwork for inclusion in the LICC competition. Juried by a board of experts across the visual arts scene, two prize winners are selected each year. Not only does it reward international talent, it also facilitates contact between uniquely talented artists and an international audience.
